My background brings together coaching, therapeutic training, creative practice, and personal and spiritual enquiry. Alongside three decades working in games and music, I have spent around twenty years developing my practice through training, accreditation and work with people navigating change. The questions that connect these strands are human ones: how we understand ourselves, how we relate to others, and how we find meaning and possibility in our lives.
Coaching & therapeutic foundations
I am an ICF-accredited ACC coach, with a Professional Certificate in Transpersonal Coaching Psychology from the Alef Trust and an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis from the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. I am also a member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the British Psychological Society.
My approach is relational, systemic and adapted to the individual. I draw on Nancy Kline’s Time to Think, Clean Language, coaching and family constellations, and HeartMath coaching. These offer different ways of listening, exploring patterns, and supporting presence and self-understanding, rather than a single method to which everyone must conform.
In deeper work, I offer a confidential, trauma-informed space to explore questions of self, purpose and presence within the wider arc of a person’s life. My therapeutic training informs that work, alongside a commitment to clear agreements, informed consent and professional boundaries. No method or model matters more than the quality of the relationship.
Creativity & lived experience
Creativity has been a continuous thread in my life. Since 1996, I have worked in games, alongside a practice as a music producer. Those years have involved making things with others, navigating uncertainty, and working with the complex relationships through which creative ideas become real.
I bring that experience into coaching: an appreciation of creative process, the space needed for new possibilities to emerge, and the importance of translating insight into lived practice.
Consciousness, yoga & spiritual enquiry
My interest in consciousness is grounded in transpersonal coaching, personal and spiritual enquiry, and an exploration of deeper dimensions of self and experience. This is part of the background from which Transpersonal Diagnostics has emerged: a wish to make the meeting points between different ways of understanding human experience more useful to practitioners.
The yogic tradition also offers an ethical foundation for how I aspire to live and work. In particular, the Yamas provide an orientation towards care, honesty and responsibility:
- Ahimsa — non-violence: cultivating compassion and psychological safety.
- Satya — truthfulness: speaking with clarity, honesty and transparency.
- Asteya — non-stealing: respecting others’ time, attention, and intellectual and emotional labour.
- Brahmacharya — moderation: attending to energy and presence without burnout or domination.
- Aparigraha — non-attachment: loosening the hold of control, personal agendas and ego-driven outcomes.
These are aspirations rather than claims of attainment. I approach them imperfectly, with sincere intention and a commitment to continued learning.
Ethics & continuing learning
I am committed to the ICF Code of Ethics, including respect for autonomy and confidentiality, reflective practice, and maintaining competence. My intention is to create a non-directive relationship that honours each person’s experience, rather than imposing an interpretation upon it.
I offer this framework in the same spirit: as a contribution to an ongoing conversation, open to challenge, refinement and learning from others.
