Adjusted Cognition

Exploration of personal story, shadow, and emotional imprints.

Verbatim from Transpersonal Diagnostics™: Core Manual, 2025 edition (p. 6)

As described in the Core Manual: "Exploration of personal story, shadow, and emotional imprints, often triggered by life transitions or inner questioning."

This is a correction from an earlier draft of this page, which had swapped the Personal Narrative and Adjusted Cognition descriptions. Per the source manual, Adjusted Cognition is where autobiographical story, shadow material and emotional imprints are explored — typically triggered by life transitions or inner questioning, not by a change in metaphysical belief.

Interventions

Clarify changing perspectives

Begin with consent and the person's own account. Ask what has changed in interpretation, what remains stable, and how everyday functioning is affected. Keep territory language tentative. Agree one realistic next step and check whether the conversation remains useful.

Not a validated intervention protocol. Stay within professional competence; pause and refer when safety or functioning is uncertain. Do not induce or intensify altered states.
