Imaginal / Transcendent Visualisation
Contact with transpersonal imagery, archetypes, mythic patterns, and perceived encounters with guides or symbolic entities.
Verbatim from Transpersonal Diagnostics™: Core Manual, 2025 edition (p. 6)
As described in the Core Manual: "Contact with transpersonal imagery, archetypes, mythic patterns, and perceived encounters with guides, deities, or symbolic entities. Reflects Jungian and shamanic dimensions."
Hold interpretations lightly and respect cultural context; the manual does not assert the external, metaphysical reality of an image, being or perceived message. Do not introduce evocative exercises when a person is distressed or disoriented — the aim is understanding and safety, not intensification.
Observable indicators
Explore whether experiences are voluntary, distressing, disruptive or difficult to distinguish from shared reality.
Language patterns
Record the person's description without confirming metaphysical claims.
Somatic markers
Ask about arousal and orientation. Do not treat sensations as proof of spiritual attainment.
Emotional signatures
Awe, fear and uncertainty can have many meanings; assess context and support needs.
Interventions
Hold symbolic meaning lightly
Begin with consent and the person's own account. Explore whether experiences are voluntary, distressing, disruptive or difficult to distinguish from shared reality. Keep territory language tentative. Agree one realistic next step and check whether the conversation remains useful.
Not a validated intervention protocol. Stay within professional competence; pause and refer when safety or functioning is uncertain. Do not induce or intensify altered states.
